DOES EVERYONE MAKE A TEAM? HOW ARE TEAMS STRUCTURED?
Not everyone that attends tryouts will make a team. Roster invitations are sent out via email 7-10 days after the conclusion of tryouts and will include coach’s background, practice dates/times, tournament calendar and anticipated competition level. Youth basketball is structured into Division I (Highest Level of Youth Competition), Division II, Division III. At most grades levels, we will have multiple teams at similar competition levels.
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT? WHERE ARE TOURNAMENTS LOCATED?
MOKAN players can expect to attend two 75-90 minute practices, typically held between 5:30-9:15 pm, Monday through Thursday evenings. Practices will be held at The MOKAN Training Facility in Overland Park, and Homefield KCK. All tournaments are held within the Greater Kansas City-area (Johnson County, Lawrence, Liberty and Independence). MOKAN teams play 5-8 weekend games/month in tournament or tournament + league format.
WHAT IS THE COST?
Spring/Summer Season (September 2026- March 2027) - $250/month
One-time uniform fee - $125 (For new players only)
Player fees are due in advance, the month prior to participation.
