Agbaji Shines Bright

2017 EYBL team member, Ochai Agbaji, has been on a tear for the Kansas Jayhawks since Head Coach Bill Self removed the Freshman's redshirt. Ochai has averaged 16.6 PPG and 7.6 RPG since being inserted into the starting lineup. Ochai is now being projected by NBAdraft.net as a 2020 NBA Lottery pick.

MOKAN Alumni & Northwest Missouri State Redshirt Freshman, Trevor Hudgins, is having an tremendous season for the undefeated Bearcats! Hudgins is averaging 19.2 PPG and 5.7 APG for the #1 team in NCAA Division II.

2016 EYBL team member, Trae Young, is in the middle of a prolific rookie season. Trae leads all Easter Conference rookies in points, assists, steals, double-doubles and 30-point games. Lookout for Trae over the NBA's All-Star Weekend as he is scheduled to participate in the 2019 NBA Rising Stars Challenge.

two-a-days

2014 EYBL team member, Shake Milton, completed a rare feat in the NBA on January 8th, 2019 when he was give the opportunity to play two games in one day. Shake spent that Tuesday morning playing for the Sixers G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, and then played for the 76ers versus the Toronto Raptors later that evening, logging over 20 minutes of action.

Malik Hall to Michigan State

Future Spartan

In November, 2018 EYBL team member and Sunrise Christian Academy product Malik Hall committed to play for legendary coach Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans. Hall, ranked #48 overall in the class of 2019 by Rivals.com, choose the Spartans over offers from Purdue, Texas, Oregon and slew of others.

McDonald's All-American Nominees

Christian Braun

2018 EYBL team members, Christian Braun and Grant Sherfield were nominated to play in the 42nd McDonald's All-American Game in Atlanta, GA. While neither were selected for the final roster, both were happy to share the prestigious honor.

How you can participate in the story...

Each year, MOKAN raises support to give young men an opportunity to be mentored, receive necessary academic resources and use the game of basketball to earn a debt-free college education. At this time, 98% of the participants who complete our High School programming go on to receive a college scholarship, totaling in over $23.8 million in valued scholarship assistance.

MOKAN is currently seeking out individuals and businesses who would be interested in hearing more about our work. As a 501(c)(3), we are dependent on the support of our community. In 2019, our goal is to raise the financial support necessary to bring on a full-time academic coordinator to service all of our High School student-athletes. Christian Braun (Blue Valley Northwest) has committed to play at the University of Kansas in 2019. Braun chose the Jayhawks over offers from Oklahoma, Kansas State, Illinois & others.

ANTONIO GORDON TO K-STATE

Antonio Gordon (Eisenhower) has committed to play at Kansas State in 2019. The 3-star big man had previously been committed to Tulsa before reconsidering.

GRANT SHERFIELD TO UCLA

Grant Sherfield (Sunrise Christian Academy) has committed to play at UCLA in 2019. The 4-star guard has been committed to the Bruins since October of 2017.

DAJUAN HARRIS TO MO STATE

Dajuan Harris (Rock Bridge) has committed to play at Missouri State in 2019. The 3-star guard played a critical role in advancing his team to the Final 4 of the 2018 Nike Peach Jam.

MOKAN is still awaiting commitments from 5 members of the 2018 EYBL team. Malik Hall (Sunrise Christian Academy), Javaunte Hawkins (Lee's Summit North), Isiaih Mosley (Rock Bridge), DeAndre Sorrells (Grandview), Jarrett Hensley (Leavenworth) are all still deciding on where to attend college.

"Tum Tum" Nairn Added to Phoenix Suns Coaching Staff

Former Michigan State Spartan & MOKAN Alum, Lourawls "Tum Tum" Nairn has been named Player Development Assistant for the NBA's Phoenix Suns. "Tum Tum" graduated from Michigan State this past Spring and just completed writing his autobiography entitled "Purpose Driven". The book tells the story of Tum's journey from The Bahamas to playing NCAA Division I basketball. "Tum Tum" is the first of our program Alumni to coach on the NBA level.

Richardson Signs with MKS Dabrowa Gornicza

Fresh off a run to the Final 4, MOKAN Alum Ben Richardson signed a professional contract with MKS Dabrowa Gornicza of Poland. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza went 17-18 last year in the highest tier of the Poland Basketball League. The Blue Valley Northwest product won Most Outstanding Player of the South Region during the 2018 NCAA Tournament.

Juwan Morgan Named Indiana Team Captain

Alongside Hoosier teammate Zach McRoberts, MOKAN Alum Juwan Morgan was named team captain for the 2018-19 season. Indiana Head Coach, Archie Miller said, "They lead by example on the floor every day with their work ethic and in the locker room by not being afraid to hold their teammates accountable in representing the standards we expect when you wear Indiana across your chest. They are two of the most selfless individuals you will ever meet and clearly have earned the respect of their teammates and coacing staff." 6-foot-8 Morgan averaged 16.5 points and 7.4 reounds per game and earned All-Big Ten second team honors as a Junior last season.

Dante Ranked #7 Overall in Class of 2020 by Rivals.com

In September, Rivals.com released updated rankings for the class of 2020 and Sunrise Christian Academy product, N'Faly Dante, found his name near the top of the list. The 5-star big man was ranked #7 overall and is viewed as the top center in his class. Dante holds offers from Kansas, Kentucky, LSU and many more. Dante figures to be a big part of MOKAN's 2019 EYBL team as he averaged 13.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game during his 2018 campaign. In addition to helping his MOKAN team to the Final 4 of the 2018 Nike Peach Jam, Dante was the program's second ever participant in the prestigious Nike Hoop Summit which features top High School players from around the world.

RODNEY PERRY AT USA BASKETBALL MINICAMP

October 5th-7th, MOKAN's EYBL Head Coach, Rodney Perry, served as an on-floor coach for the newly expanded 2018 USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team minicamp in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The minicamp featured 87 participants, including 22 gold medalists and athletes from the high school classes of 2019, 2020, 2021 & 2022. It was the first training camp following USA Basketball's announcement of its collaboration with the NBA, National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and the NCAA to expand its Men's Junior National Team program.

Selected 14th overall in the 2018 NBA Draft, Michael will spend this upcoming season rehabbing to get his back 100% healthy.

Burks begins his 8th year in the league in what will be the final year of a 4 year/$42 million dollar contract signed with the Utah Jazz.

7-year NBA Veteran Willie Reed will begin the upcoming NBA season as a Free Agent. Reed spent last season playing for the Los Angeles Clippers before being traded to the Detroit Pistons. Reed hopes to catch on with a team at some point this season.
